Working C(lasses)

All the things I could do if I had a little money... it's a rich man's world.

Throwing loose pennies into jars, playing Curby in the street, picking pennies up off the ground, playing hopscotch, eating beans on toast again, watching 'who wants to be a millionaire?' and knowing that you never will be, learning to be thrifty, working overtime underpaid, avoiding the goose shit, drinking Irn Bru, running wildly through the park, missing meals, leaving the heating off, thinking about everything she gave up, chalking protests onto pavements, eating beans on toast again, missing the class trip, playing kickabout with a half-deflated football, scrimping, saving, working overtime and underpaid. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

A live site-specific performance exploring working class women's stories and experiences growing up.

Performed at Strathclyde Park (Glasgow, 2022)
